Over the past 20 years, few people have watched more UNCW basketball than Brian Mull.
From his days as the StarNews beat writer during the Benny Moss and Buzz Peterson eras, to the present, where he’ll be covering mid-major hoops for CollegeInsider, Mull has seen the Seahawks highest highs and lowest lows.
For example, in 2007, Mull witnessed UNCW score two buckets in the first half at George Mason, and just over a year later, he was on press row for T.J. Carter’s mad dash for a game-winner in 2008. Strange times, indeed.
That makes him the perfect guest for this episode of Perchcast, where he joined the guys to put last season into perspective, preview the roster and discuss what he’ll be watching when UNCW takes the court for next week’s opener at Illinois State.
Give it a listen here or find it via SoundCloud, Apple podcasts or Spotify.
As always, you can find Mull’s perspective on the Seahawks — and beyond — on Twitter, and be sure to check out his CollegeInsider work this season, where he aims to craft smart stories for hoops junkies.
Hopefully, we’ll catch up with him again during conference play.
